To tell you the truth, I was in a bit of a bind. I've never had "writer's block" before, nor did I ever believe in it, but I've been staring at the walls for over a week, unsure of how to proceed with the story. Since it's never happened before so I had no clue how to tackle this.
I spent a long time trying to brainstorm a solution to my dilemma, to no avail. The answer came to me after I had given up the search. I decided that there is no chance of me ever finishing the first part (it will be a serial) in time for Christmas so I just picked up a book (A Game of Thrones of all things) and said "screw it!" After two hours of thinking about nothing but the plight of the Starks, all the pieces fell into place and work can now continue. It's a race against the clock but hopefully I'll still get it done in time.
Anyway, since there is nothing interesting I can share with you this week I thought I'd just share some of my past writing ventures.
Here's the link to the only article I ever published in Cracked, called The 5 Most Baffling Celebrity Cameos in Pro Wrestling:
At the time I was doing some humor writing, so I was very excited to get a piece published in Cracked. Been a fan for a long time. The article bombed by Cracked standards but I'm still completely in awe of the fact that it had over half a million views.
Hope you'll enjoy reading about Jay Leno puttin' the hurtin' on Hulk Hogan.
Anyway, what else is new? Oh, right... I'm going to Barcelona on November 24th to celebrate my wife and my ten year anniversary as a couple. I wonder if I have any readers in Spain at this point. Feel free to send me an e-mail and let me know if you're among them (or if you are them).
Other than that, I'm working on a new article for The Music and Myth. I neglected my jazz blog because of the work I did promoting Mindguard and writing Skyborn but I'm making that up with an article about the talented Carlton Holmes. So check back in a couple of days!
