I’d like to let you know about a new release, from my buddy David Neth, author of the Under the Moon series.
David has been documenting his career for a while and is now publishing a nonfiction book about his first year as an independent author, called Go Indie: A guide to Your First Year Self-Publishing.
It’s bound to be an interesting take on this profession from an insider, but also someone who is relatively new on the scene and trying to find his footing in what can often be a merciless profession.
David asked me to contribute a short text documenting my last days at my old job and my first year as a full-time author. The text is called Reverse-Engineering an Author and is dedicated to the memory of my former coworker Csaba Gyöngyösi, who was one of my closest friends during those years and was personally responsible for adding a touch of idiosyncrasy to an already strange time in my life.
