It was a difficult time and our house felt empty without her. In the week after her death, we realized that we just weren’t made to be without a furry companion. So much of our time together had been spent bonding over our love for Picky. We missed that time and realized that this love is still with us, even if Picky isn’t.
Our bunny had a good life. She was absolutely adored and we never wasted an opportunity to show her that. Her portrait hangs on our wall and her memory will make us smile for the rest of our lives.
On February 19th we decided to offer our love to another sweet, four-legged friend and adopted Jazzie, a gorgeous and good-natured Bichon puppy. We are now officially dog people!
This fun-loving pup has brought so much joy in our household and her playful presence was an immense help in overcoming our grief. If it weren’t for her, I don’t know if or when I would have found the strength to go back to work in the office I’ve shared with Picky for so long. Now, this office is alive again with that positive energy only an animal can produce.
Today, Jazzie turns 4 months old and her new “pack” is looking forward to many years of walks, games and bellyrubs.
